Question 2WD Sapphire fuel pump cradle

Can anyone help? A while back there were some posts regarding someone making brand new alloy or stainless steel fuel pump cradles for Sapphire Cosworths. Has anyone bought one and if so can you give me the details of who makes them and how much they cost please. My original one has seen better days.

Thanks for the information, I have got a good one sorted from Gary at RS breakers. I bet the guy will have no trouble selling it even at £100.

Thanks for the information but the one I got from Gary is in sound condition. Just taken it apart into its 5 sections which are now at the powder coaters . £20 for the silver finish which I think is good value.

Have you tried any breakers? That is where I got mine and if its in sound condition get it powder coated and it will look like new again.

They are made of steel, so a lot of the second hand ones that breakers have will be rusty, so you have to make sure they are not to bad or as you have said when they are sandblasted they will get destroyed. One that has only a small amount of rust will clean up fine and after powder coating look almost brand new again.
I was lucky with the one I got from Gary at RS Breakers and I had it silver powder coated and fitted with new bolts /rubber sleeves etc.

I had a couple of cradles made from type six stainless steel which is the same stuff that beer barrels are made from, so pretty tough and durable and would probably out live the car they were bolted to in all honesty, how ever the production cost was quite high and I tested the water with the couple I had made but nobody really wanted to pay what I was asking for them so I wasn't going to risk getting a large batch made that would run into thousands of pounds and shelved the idea.

Sierras are us did have some advertised a while back including the internals of the cradle but don't have any advertised now, they probably felt the same as I did with these as if iirc they were are asking around £150 for the whole thing, but probably couldn't get the custom on them either
