Default 2wd baffle sump & big wing sump info

Currently rebuilding my 2wd yb engine nothing too amazing just to stg3 power to start with. Its going to be fast road car but will be taking on track when i can.

Now to combat against oil surge on heavy cornering and braking which is the best route to go?

1) big wing sump + gated baffle in sump + oil cooler

2) std sump with gated baffle + oil cooler

3) just oil cooler or baffle

4) not worth it only on big spec engines

Any info is appreciated as i would like to know which way to go before i bolt the sump back on.

Cheers.

So just a gated baffle in your sump not a big wing sump? Also you going to run uprated oil cooler too?

was told it's not a track car I don't need a big wing there's no oil cooler on it as it was at 500bhp I'm not planning on one with my new engine but haven't asked the question yet

Im not looking to run massive power so gated baffle on my std sump will do may well get a oil cooler kit too doubt it will do any harm.

Every one will have a different opinion mine was 500bhp for about 5 years with just the standard baffle never had any issues. It's now gatted for the new engine mine will never see the track it don't interest me it's just a fast road car
Be carful with an oil cooler you can over cool your oil! Mine has a oil temp gauge and my oil never got that hot

I think for now will go for a gated baffle. Will be running oil temp/pressure gauges so that will be monitored.

Big wing it if u can stretch to it, they don't take much oil as it is, bit of extra oil don't do any harm and always there ready for future upgrades. Scs did mine and recommended standard baffle with additional holes drilled for the extra wings. Those g18 sump baffles, a few of them have broke up causing a fair bit of damage.
