AP Organic Clutch Question
Morning all,
Quick one for you..
I plan to fit an AP organic clutch to my stage 3 2wd YB.
However, I have a brand new LUK clutch kit here. My question is, could I fit an organic clutch plate and utilise the LUK clutch cover? (Part No. LUK/AS 124 0149 50).
Cheers,
Al

Been there done that using a standard cover with a 6 paddle.
It didn't work for me, still suffered from slip in 5th on the motorway with the 300ft lb odd torque stg 3 makes.
However I know others who have managed just fine, suppose its a chance you take?
Imo its the uprated cover you need not the drive plate

Well I got my hands on a Helix clutch cover from a friend to try out. He bought it as a kit with a four paddle clutch and found you'd need a left leg like Arnie to operate it (cable clutch). He swapped to a standard cover. My plan is to use a standard plate with uprated Helix cover?
What do you think? Think it may work?

There's no point using a uprated cover and a standard drive full faced plate . It'll burn out soo quick the force of the uprated pressure plate will kill the standard drove plate .
4 paddle are very snatchy
6 paddle are less snatchy you can still slip it a bit .
6 paddle with a standard pressure plate will keep standard weight on the pedal
6 paddle with a uprated pressure plate will have a heavy pedal
I'm only going to a uprated pressure plate now only because It will only last 2 full bore 4x4 launches at the pod before it slips .
But driving on the road on track coming on boost it is fine .
It's the initial kick that it didn't like .
Up to you dude

Decisions? ?
Personally i wouldn't fit anything but the heavy cover with the 6 paddle, however this is only based on my experience and the fact that taking the box out time and time again get a bit tedious.
All i was trying to do was stay away from a heavy pedal by using the uprated cover but in the end i had no choice and i discovered it wasn't actually that bad anyway.
While you have the box out you may as well convert to hydraulic clutch too, or at least do what you need to do on the box to mount the slave cylinder in the future?
