hi i recently got a rebuild kit ,bearings and seals for my 3 door cosworth as it was a bit whiney.when i put it back together it was leaking oil at front oil seal .i removed flange and oil seal is right outside diameter but wrong inside diamater its about 2 mm of a gap around flange shaft .i ordered new seal and its very same . any ideas guys have a diff from something else or what .?

Check the diff ratio ... maybe a modded one

Just go to a bearing suppler that sells seals with the inside and outside diameter of the old seal.

Are they easy to strip?! Want to get my casing etc cleaned up while I'm doing my resto and the flanges are pretty badly rusted so be good to get them blasted!!

If rebuilding by the book you need all sorts of special tools , dial gauges .12 point socket , torque spanner to tighten 12 point nut but it's left hand thread so must be special one .suppose to take loads of measurements and get shims to suit etc .I wouldn't of went at it myself if I knew it required so much effort .if you do decide to do yours I have a long reach 12 point socket made up you can have it ,
