Default Uprating rear calipers to 4 pots.......

Was wondering if uprating the rear calipers to 4 pots does anything need changing i.e the standard bias valve?!

Long story short I've got a set of AP fronts with 370x32mm discs and AP rears with 350x30mm discs and trying to decide whether to go to the effort of fitting the rears and having the standard caliper modified to work as the handbrake or just to get an uprated rear disc kit for the standard ones.

They haven't cost me anything so be nice to use them, otherwise I know 370mm fronts are a bit ott lol

If you heave them it seems a waste not to use them.

Yea and luckily just fit under my revolutions at the front!!

Just wanted to know whether anything needs changing/uprating to use them as they will obviously have a lot more braking effort at the rear then the standard caliper

With those massive front AP brakes you wont need to do much on the rears , the car should really pull you up big time!

Yea they are a tad big lol, just need to make sure there's not too much bite on the rears with them being so big lol.

Fronts seem to fit under my revolutions but won't know 100% till the brackets are made

You will have to limit the rears so much it will be pointless fitting 4 pots.
The disc size yes, the caliper no.

Been there. Done that, if its 4wd then beneficial, not a 2wd.

Cheers mate that's the answer I'm looking for!
The rears are actually 6600 size so had toyed with just fitting them to the fronts with the 350mm discs if there was no point fitting them like you have said plus it's a road car?!!

370mm fronts would be nice but bit overkill?!
Failing that what would be a good caliper to use instead?!
Btw had the revolutions I got off you painted not so long ago do look rather nice!!

No worries, use the 370s, on the front, just don't go mad on the back.

Wheels look awesome.

i bought the brackets to fit 4pot aps to the back of my 2wd saff and spoke to mike rainbird about it ,and he said fine if i want to kill myself as it would put me over a hedge lol

fine on 4wd as the wheels are mechanically connected but not on a 2wd

Ah cool deff won't use them then lol, will probably settle for the biggest kit to use some 4x4 rears then, shame as would look good but not worth killing myself over lol.

Unless you can think of a caliper that would take the 350x30 discs to use alongside the standard one as a handbrake?!

Glad I asked now!

I've got the reyland 300mm rear up grade with 4x4 calipers. On a road car with good front brake I can't see you ever needing any more than that on the rear

Cool cheers!!
Know someone with some 4x4 rears hopefully so will try and get them.

Gonna be a long while off luckily, so glad I found out now before getting brackets made!!

shame I can't use what I have but can just sell them I guess, the fronts are gonna fill the whole space behind the wheels
