Hi every1 took my l6 ecu apart to fit new chip and noticed there is a burnt looking resistor what's this part for as car runs ok still and now I don't want to put it back together with this part looking like this help please

Some of those tracks have seen better days. Pop it out and replace it maplin or rs components should sell them looks more like capacitor of some type to me. The black one near it with silver ring is a diode.

Thanks for the reply mate Im thinking it could maybe be somthing to do with the Amal valve earth as my Amal plug has been cut of and replaced with spade connectors so maybe touched or shorted across at some time also I'm constantly getting to much boost and can't lower it with actuator anymore do u by any chance know what 1 controls Amal valve also car runs spot on apart from boost lol
