4WD Loom on 2WD car
Hi
I've a Sapphire 2WD and few months ago the non-engine loom burns
Can I use a 4WD non engine loom (clocks, windows, abs, lights, etc) on a 2WD car?
I know that clocks has different connector but I could buy a 4WD clock
Any other difference? ABS works fine with my 2WD ABS ECU and sensors?
Regards

you will find some plugs and wire colours are different. especially around the ABS System. It is certainly doo-able but will take a little figuring out.
The ABS is actually a separate sub loom, but ties into the fuse box. it would be worth making sure your new 4x4 car loom comes with the ABS section.
You can either use 4x4 clocks, or witha little figuring out you can swap the plugs over to retain your 2wd clocks.
Is it not worth buying the correct loom in the first place though? Surely Gary@RSClassics can find you a 2wd car loom?

Problem is find a 2WD LHD loom, I found a lot for RHD but not for LHD
And yes, the new loom is a complete loom (abs, engine, and all) just to use the parts I need

I would use the 2WD ABS loom if it's working OK. There are differences between earlier and later looms. If there is an orange ABS relay in the original fuse box but not in the new one, remove it from the old box and fit it into the new fuse box with its wiring, repairing if necessary.
Also, if you are going to change the complete car loom, I would cut and use sections of the original loom where it goes up the A pillars, otherwise you will have to remove the headlining and you will struggle to feed the wiring into place (other than the aerial cable - don't cut this, but use the original coax if it's OK).
