I have removed roll pin but does not seem to want to separate easily. Does it just need more force or is there something I am missing. Also manual does not suggest doing this to remove gearbox but suggests removing cradle somehow and leaving it in car held up by bent piece of steel rod. Looks very hard to get to front bolts holding cradle. (4x4 cossie) Any comments appreciated. Thanks David

I've always taken the stick out with the box? Just make sure to remove all the interior fittings/gaiter/gearknob first, then drop the lot down in one go.

Twist it with vice grips.
