Default how heavy cossie head with manifolds and turbo

As title. Manual says to use an engine hoist but wondering how heavy to lift by hand. Thanks David

20 kg for the head, 6kg for the exh mani, and probably another 10-15 for the rest.

easy to lift off unless your using arp studs then you can't.


Done it many times just be careful.

Thanks for the replies. As said head was easily lifted off using 2 people - one gabbing the intake manifold and one the exhaust and walking forward. It is O.k. to lift alone once off but awkward to reach over and lift off engine especially as I have car quite high on axle stands as also removing gearbox. David

Default replacement etc of head

even if using bolts i use two old studs diagonally to place/locate head on block with slots cut where bolt head would be to allow me to unscrew and lift out-then replace with bolts
this saves damaging the gasket whilst placing head on block
i havent done a yb head for years but the studs i made up are still in my box
