Default Cosworth engine issue!

Hello to all,i have rebuild my cosworth engine and now i have done about 4500 kilometers,i have 200block and 2wd cylinder head, so the problem is i have oil to the cooling system, the first time had metalic head gasket with victor reinz bolts,so i replaced with victor reinz group.a head gasket and with the same new bolts, but the problem is still there, the first time i tested the cylinder head for sure for any crack and was fine, also never overheating to my cooling system,so does anyone have the same problem? thanks in advance

Regards
Thanasis

Default oil/water

check simple things first-oil modine/cooler,can mix oil/water here-can also come through the turbo core....
water hoses can be bypassed for a while on either to eliminate them as an issue

if not suspect a bigger issue-headgasket at best...block/head at worst

I'd say your block is cracked between bolt holes and oil galleries

The block was running perfect before rebuild, and also when i took the first time the cylinder head with the metallic gasket the bolt holes was fine without any crack, this block never tightened with APRs,except if can be this damage with original bolts..

Thanks for the replies

Is the seal face really smooth? Very important, if you using a metal gasket.

hi there
my friend had this problem also after a rebuild, turned out he had not cleaned out the threads for the head bolts and there was oil in the bottom of them, Bolts were then at wrong torque, this then cracked the block.
I hope this is not the case for you.
good luck
paul

Depending on how much a head and block has been skimmed standard head bolts can and do bottom out in the block resulting in head not being torqued down and head loose even the bolts are tight.

If you have used Arp's did you re torque once engine was upto temp and them cooled?

The block has been skimmed once,one-two tenths of a millimeter, the head is little more, already i thought it but i will check it for sure,

i'm not used ARP's in this block, just victor reinz bolts!!

Thanks
