Default clutch for 2wd cossie

looking to upgrade my clutch as it has started slipping in 4th and 5th gear. whats the best one to get that will handle 320bhp? the car is a road car used most days but plan on doing a couple of track days too so want something that will handle abuse but isnt a pain to drive in traffic

AP organic will be your best bet. Matt Lewis does a AP plate/alcon cover which gives the best of both.

Check his sire for details

Irrelevant to what centre plate you go for, if its an AP one just makec sure its the heavy duty one (same as what comes with the paddle and organic kits for around £400)

Personally I'd get the 6 paddle but thats just based on my personal experiences of getting annoyed taking the box out to replace fried clutches.

Get your flywheel refaced too, should only cost £30 but you need to do it if you want the new clutch to last

Defo get a machince shop to re-face/balance the flywheel and mod any dowels to ensure pressure plate mating ...

I got shafted by them they are not genuine. Paid £136 for a AP organic it slipped with only minimal boost even with a refaced flywheel..

Hope yours is ok. My mate was shafted too but managed to get a refund after several phone calls etc.

Genuine AP plates have writing on them with the cp number.

Google them they had had many company names and just reline transit covers etc

Why would they sell a genuine £500 clutch for peanuts ?

Paul

What you have unfortunately is not what you think it is. Send them a message saying you don't believe it is a genuine AP kit and see what they say.

I asked the same question out of curiosity a while ago, asked why they are so cheap for a genuine AP kit and got a strange response. I'll try and find it and post it up.

If you have only just bought it I'd get in contact with them and ask to return for a full refund, it will cost you only the postage then. And make sure you sent it signed for.

They seem to be the cheapest price i can find. Either way the flywheel will be getting refaced

Its not real mate all numbers matched on my so called organic plate but was a copy I used it for 80 miles then binned it

Get a refund and buy a genuine from GGR or Matt Lewis it will save you time in the long term

I can't find a copy of the message they sent me but from memory i think it went along the lines of 'the cover is not actually an AP but its the same'

Thing is, its the decent cover you need
