Default Electric Power Steering Pump

I have not been able to find much on here but will keep looking.

I want to swap to an electric pump to free up some room near the pulleys, I have an A class electric pump here to try but wondered if anyone knew what size the fitting is in to the Cossie (Sierra 4x4) power steering union. I am going to need to order a bespoke pipe / fittings and my friend seems to think someone might know i.e. 1/2 inch bsp which can go to a dash xyz?

If anyone has done this conversion it would be useful to get some info.

I hoped to get speed flow to make me some pipe work but did not know if it had to be different to fuel pipe work?

That is more for when a car needs to go from non power steering to power steering...what I want is to remove the mechanical power steering pump and use the elec pump and therefore I need to work out what thread I need to go in to the Sierra power steering rack...then I need to work out what thread goes in to the a class pump and have a pipe made up to run between them.

Pipe work would be hydraulic lines not as per fuel lines, any hose company will recognise the fittings if you take parts with you,

At least on the std non Cosworth ZF assisted rack I have and made a similar modification to, there is no thread at all. The pipes have o rings and they are pushed in to the place and then hold together with a "plate" that screws on to the top of the rack and between the pipes.

Fittings on the left side of the pipes:

At least the hydraulic shop I used to modify the pipes, didn't have the correct fittings, but as seen from the pic they were able to join new hoses to the old pipes.

Useful to know. I was looking to free up some room around the front for cooling etc. spec r are going to make one of his coolers fit and duct the front of the car to force the air through it, moving the pump would have allowed the rad higher.

I have tried a std Cossie expansion tank bodied in there and so far so good so will get the expansion tank sorted next.

Any luck with the quieter fuel pump you mentioned and how did that escos compare?

It will be running this week,
All the electric pump set ups I have seen but not used always seem to give problems.
