I recently bought a 92' sierra cosworth 4x4.

It was not really expensive and was supposed to have a head gasket problem. When you pulled it hard, the cooling system got overpressured.. No water/oil mixture and no white smoke

I removed the head and found two surprises, firstly, it had a 205 block instead of a 200. It had been linered also (this was told me by the previous owner, who was supposed of rebuilding the engine a few years ago)


I think I will try to find a 200 block in better shape.. but only for be sure, is really dangerous the fact of using this block?

Some 4x4 saff came with 205 blocks has it small core plugs?

Also mine cracked there due to using arp studs.

I bet its exhaust side second from front.

hehe no it has big core plugs, not like rs500

it broke between 3&4 cyl from front. inlet side bigger crack. exhaust side the tiny crack










another question. How can I know If I had 4wd pistons or 2wd ones?

Shame trouble is 200 blocks are silly money now.

yes... they are not cheap. I'm going to see one this weekend, I think he wants around 350 pounds. Is not expensive if it's good. I've to check it all. Even with reboring could be interesting

Found anothers.. one by around 500 but it's supposed to has warped surface.. another linered with a broken piston. has to have at least a liner changed

200 blocks are £1000, any less and your either lucky or it's for the bin.
