In the boot on either side there are vents, these should have a rubber insert in them. However, this can come out, which allows a greater airflow through.

I have the same problem with mine. In my situation its coming from the joint between the down pipe and the turbo in the bottom (6 o clock) position and I cannot get it to stop.

Its as if the exhaust it preventing the down pipe from sitting square to the turbo? I've had it all off and refitted it all and it still does it, sometimes its worse than others but it never used to do it?

Been thinking about buying a flexi joing and cutting it into the exhaust to try and sort it?

My dad had that on his old Saff, was, as said above, the rubber flap in the rear.... It's not a breather sort of smell is it? Was thinking, might be the outlet on the breather tank, if you have one?

I have the same problem...

Pretty sure its where the exhaust housing meets with the elbow on mine....

Clothes smell slightly when you get out the car. Always have the window down also.

Should of really got the elbow machined flat

EDIT:

I also have a breather system...Wonder if its coming from there....
