3dr won't run after cams/tappets change
Right then as you know I had the cams and tappets changed with brand new items, the car started but only run on 3 cylinders, then warmed up and was all ok, AFRs all good, drove it home about 35 miles, all good, didn't miss a beat. The allun bolt were not touched on the vernier wheels and everything lined up so everything should go back on as it was.
The next morning went to start it up,running on 3 cylinders, massively overfuelling and killed the plugs.
Ordered new plugs £37 and put new leads on still the same, then killed another set of plugs,by this time it was just turning over, got fuel and spark but it wouldn't fire up.
Yesterday changed, cap, rotor arm, another set of plugs,ACT and CTS, phase sensor and crank sensor, still won't start, again got fuel and spark but will not fire.
I spoke to my tuner and he thinks the cam timing is out, common thing he said if the timing is out, will run on 3 cylinders, massivley overfuelling sending a signal to the map sensor to make it run super rich and kill plugs.
So we put a standard set of pulleys on to try and cure this if it was to be a timing issue, still the same, had no luck resolving this issue.
So strange how it ran so nicely coming home that's what I can't understand.
The car will be going to my tuner on a recovery truck now, totally miserable about it and all the hassle, absolute nightmare.

Worth a look ey.Funnily enough we changed the small pipe fuel rail to regulator and the one that goes from the base of the regulator to the underside of the car but this was done before the cam changes a few weeks back.
So need to take the reg off and inspect it Tony?If the diaphragm has split can it be replaced or does it mean a replacement fuel reg is required?
Thanks.Lee.
