Cosworth misfire on boost after turbo rebuild.
Evening all,
Having problems with my 4X4 Sapphire, I've had my T34 rebuilt as the bearing let go in it since I've put it on its developed a misfire as soon as it comes on boost, it drives absolute mint pootlying around but as soon as I put my foot down and the boost gauge hits one bar and it's starts misfiring.
Even if I feed the power in it still does it.
I tried a fresh set of plugs in it (071's) just to see if it would help but no joy.
Any ideas people? What have I done!!?
Starting to pull my hair out with it and all I want is get out and use it.
Cheers, Oli.

personally Id bin the plugs and put something else in. Ive had loads of trouble with 071's causing poor running and misfiring on boost. Im either unlucky and keep getting dodgy ones or there are a lot of duff plugs out there. Not just on one car either, several mates have had issues too.

If the turbo let go before the there will oil in all the pipes, cooler and exhaust. It should not make it misfire but it will smoke its bag off until its all burnt away.
I took everything off and cleaned the lot out with petrol.Still smoked for donkeys.
Make sure as your plugs are gapped correctly, what boost are you running?.
I used BGK bkr9eix gapped @ .65. with a grpa coil .22psi and only ever suffered one misfire but that was old plugs.

I always used NGK BCR8ES even on a standard coil and doing 36psi on a T34 i had no missfire issues from them at 0.6mm plug gap.
Worth giving the pipework, cooler and TB a clean if they are oily too.
