which way did you turn the cambelt tensioner to put tension on the belt ?

it needs to be turned clockwise before you tighten the lock nut

As above ^^^^

Crack off the lock nut and turn the tensioner the opposite way, it will bring the belt away from the pump

Everything is ok at the level of the timing of the distribution. Besides this is not my first YB.
Loock this others pictures , you can see the old pump, 1 cm to the belt like this.

The water pump which is shown in the last pictures, is a 2wd pump. Not 4x4 water pump. The 4x4 water pump has thicker body, and is therefor closer to the timing belt.

Yes I know but not like this. You can see that it's impossible to use without crash to the belt in few kilometers.

You tensioner is clearly tensioned in the wrong direction.

No it's good because like you have made the belt touch the housing thermostat.
Many motor have broken as here.
The distribution shall be adjusted from the factory on my engine.

Even with it tensioned clock wise mine still doesn't fail on water pump. So my guess would be you belt is stretched.

Be careful because your belt is too close to the housing. 1 or 2mm is too short to the beat of the belt
This is a known issue in the world of the cosworth

look at your picture, the belt is not at the middle of the down carter

and on my engine it is perfectly centered

and you can look on the other engines

another one

My problem is clearly the pump, she is no good.
My question was, someone has you there had the same problem?

Had the same Problem with a new pump I bought. Compared to another Escort 4WD pump we had lying around the casting was way thicker and no chance to clear the belt at all. I ended up sending it back. I have no idea off which engine it came but clearly it doesnt belong to the YB.

I ended buying up buying a new pump as the used one I got was fucked too.
Its not genuine but a good re-cast from the original manufacturer.
It came from Motomobil and fits and works fine. No problems with the timing belt.
With the strong Pound vs. Euro you might get a cheap replacement buying in Germany although the pump was sold by a distributor from UK.
