Default 4x4 to 2wd front suspension problem with my saph

I've fitted all 2wd front suspension to my saph as im converting from 4wd to 2wd runing gear. Everything is 2wd from the crossmember, rack, hubs, konis,Tca's and Anti roll bar but after fitting all this my front wheels are still sitting too far forward and too close to the front bumper :-(

Anyone got any idears why this could be? I thought prehaps i might of accidently put the 4x4 arb on so got hold of another 2wd arb but i fitted that today and its still seems the same.

Any info and help would be appreciated.

But surely when running 17's would neve be able to turn the wheel otherwise it will catch the bumper.

I've got 17s and it just misses. Two of my friends have the same issue. It's a pain as it looks shit! I changed mine to a 26mm arb from a 2.ol pinto and it was fine. I've tried 2wd cossie and 28mm Granada cosworth arb an all do the same. I've even bought new tca's.

Think I'm going to machine the arb down.

cant see them pics dixiekid chap

get the 4wd arb that you know is the 4wd bar and lay in ton top of the 2wd bar and see what the differences are

one of them will have a different angle and some will have the bar machined further back than the other depending on what year it was made, what the guy doing the building was doing, what cololur the car was, etc, etc

soo many difrerences in the same cars that it was hit and miss what you had bolted ot the car and even though you could transfer parts form one to the other they would still be different

look at things such as the nushes on the arb to body mounts and how theyu dsit too as these can also make a difference

also check to see that thetcas are sitting straight and true and inline with the crossmemeber as this can cause handling issues in the future as nothing will loine up
