5 stud hub flanges
I know this topic has been covered before on numerous threads however, none of them are ever concluded.
Can I get away with just the 5 stud hub flanges on my 4wd sapphire Cosworth using same bearings etc.
and which model of Granada do I need them off please?
might sound dim but is the 2.9 Granada the same as the Granada Cosworth?

assuming you can find 5 stud 4wd granada mk2 hub flanges (which is what we are talking about here right? )they will be a direct replacement for your 4 stud 4wd saph hub flanges
what you won't be able to do however is reuse the bearings as they are normally destroyed when you remove the old flanges
even if they aren't do you want to take the risk of using second hand parts like bearings?
every set i've ever changed, be it front or rear has fallen apart when i've removed them
there are also 2 different types of bearings, those with plastic cases and those with metal ones for the balls or tapers to go into, make sure you try to get the metal ones where possible as the plastic ones i've found to be a rather poor compromise
any mk 3 granada will do, they are all the same, be it from 1985 (where they stopped being square fronted) all the way up to 1994 (when they became ugly round frog eyed)
the 2.9 engine uses the same basic block, but when it was 24v'd it had a different casting and used different heads, they used a different power steering pipe configuration as well as giving it a standard lsd, thicker arbs front and rear, plus bigger brakes the same as the 4wd cossie and a new auto box and other stuff like that
so while the cossie automatically comes with a price tag, the 2.9 isn't a bad motor either, but seeing as they came in the 1.8 and 2.0 pinto, plus 2.0 injection pinto and 2.0 injection dohc and a 2.4 v6 and a 2.8 efi v6 and some diesasal models the car and it's underpinnings are all the same
hope that helps and if it does, ask more questions if you are still confused

again, it's a yes and no answer

So basically any of the mk2 or mk3 Granada 5 stud hub flange's will be good?
I'm wondering if it's worth buying one to break rather than source just the flanges as they seem to command a premium
I know what you mean about the bearings though, mine fell apart on the 3 out of the 4.
Any idea's who supply's the bearings with metal casings for the front sapp 4x4? Ford are NLA and the only ones I can find are Quintin Hazell (which are plastic) and I don't hold much confidence in them

this is a mk2
this is a mk3, both early and late so you can see the difference
the mk3 is what you want

didnt know Ford still able to get them,
in 2004 ish they were NLA from all dealers in the north east i tried.
and as Dojj says, mk3 4x4 direct swop.
use the 4x4 complete rear housings as a 4x4 vented rear upgrade.
