I learn't from this.
I have uprated to a l8 with a pf09.
Swap the outer wires over 30,11 as the voltage is back to front.

If using the L6 loom then yes.

ok the Bd14 is fitted with new head gasket and arp head bolts.
the big cr35 t4 turbo is fitted.
It started on the l6 just.
I sent the l8 ecu and had a msd chip fitted and treat her to some 83lb siemens.
the car fuel relays work the fuel pump.
the problem is now there is no spark.
it has a 3 bar map sensor and the pf09 tb has had the outer wires swapped over.
I couldn't get to the car but have asked a local auto electrician to bell out the ecu etc,
Is there anything I am missing from changing to a l8 ecu.
I believe the chip has closed loop.
there isn't a lamba sensor fitted yet.
once I have her going I will send it to them for a live map and lamba sensor fitted.

its just getting her started.
I checked all the obvious bulk head connecters etc.
these were all done when I first built the car.
It did start on the l6.
now its a l8 with MSD chip for 83lb injectors ,bd14 inlet and big t4 turbo.
Is there anything I am missing.
I am posting all my sheets of ecu data on volt meter for the garage tmz.
Is there anything obvious I have missed.

The l8 uses a knock sensor my 2wd using a l8 doesn't have a knock sensor.
The earth is pin ,forget now .does the ecu need earthing itself.
The 2 wd had a earth that went onto the bracket. The l8 doesn't have a bracket so ,I don't think it wasearthed the same exept touching the dash ,this may have been metal surrounded by plastic.

yes ok.
Its not starting.
I no to check all the sensors.
When I looked only the coolent or oil pressure was of.
It was a female bullet connecter.
It was at the back of the head on the air inlet side.
The fuel pump works and there is a voltage at the coil.

Good man put the L6 on and it sparked.
I am pressuming i've a naff ecu then.
The chip is of the shelf so wouldn't stop my car sparking.
I will contact MSD and ask advice.

ok,
i don't have the standard eprom(is this the chip)
MSD have the origional chip.
It saved me alot of time ,when the l6 created a spark.
Searching the wire system.
I rang MSD and they advized making sure the baby board was wired in correctly by wriggling the unbilical.
The plan is now.
Wait untill sausage fingered mechanic wriddles the wire.
If there is no spark.
Buy baby board and send to MSD to fit.
If no joy spend money on a L8.
DOES anyoene have a L8 sierra saphire L8 for sale?

did the l8 work ok before
If you have no l8 std eprom
remove the baby board and plug your l6 eprom (chip) direct to the l8 main board as the l6 is then check as per my instructions before for spark

Well my mechanic couldn't get her started.
I took her to James at MSD and he worked his magic and found a well dodgy wire going to the amp.
The car is running.
Some good sound advice on certain quality loom issues.
I am pleased.
I am having the lamba sensor fitted and some service items ,
I will take her away and get her sills done and MOT.
I have all the parts now for the exterior .
These will be fitted and a respray next.
Back to MSD for some Gucci items then drive her sensible and get some time with her a live mapping after a wee bit of time..

Well we had a list of advisories that have been started.
The car had a leaking turbo oil return valve.
This was fixed and the car started.
We will finish of the rest of the jobs and ring up MSD.
The car doesn't rev and is over fuelling.
I would like to have the lamba sensor fitted asap.closed loop.
It's ongoing.
Patience is required.

Car is running great.
It's having it;s sills replaced and new sideskirts fitted.
i believe a dodgy 3 bar map sensor was causing the over fuelling

Had sill 90% finished and front bumper sprayed.
Car has done 500 miles but needs a few days of me finishing it of.
It runs very well but needs mapping for boost yet.
Still needs electrics tiding.

Tidied the electrics and fixed -Exhaust-now doesn't blow or fall of-18" Ozz wheels will sort the ground clearence.
Put on rouse coolent hose and aload of other under bonnet refinements.
Air filter fitted.
I need to level the bumpers and fix the trim.
Picked up a Rouse front splitter .
Need the sills finishing and side skirts fitting.
Car is running great.Having a tidy dash and a stereo helps.
Got to say the L8 bracket for holding the ecu in place is the dogs.
Thanks MSD
