Default T5 box sitting too high after Vibra technics

I've recently fitted my Vibra technics gearbox mount to my 2wd saph, however it looks like the box is sat too high up as the 4 bolts at the gearstick side are touching the chassis ...

Can't really see how i've fitted it wrong as there wasn't much in the kit.

Has anyone fitted one of these before?

Ok here is a few pics, I noticed that the bolts for the box fouled the mount.

Both sides and it didn't pull up right so filed it for clearance. Then the mount actually touched the cradle so had to clearance that as well.

Again both sides.

No wonder people moan about vibration if they are all like this. Ps t5 in a 3door.

I bought directly brand new via a supplier and had a part missing to which they sent me one out asap, however thought the kit looks good, just strange having the gearbox sitting higher

Unless I chopped it around I wouldn't be able to fit it well and believe you shouldn't have to mess around with something like that so decided to fit a standard one instead.

are you sure its the right mount and not one for the 4wd box instead?

or is there only one? because they should list them separately shouldn't they?

I got mine cheap so decided to see for myself if they were bad and with Ade's little pointer i could clearly see where the vibration issues come from and modded mine the same and guess what nothing at all and feels really solid - my box doesn't sit any higher can't even think where you'd go wrong it's that simple

That's pretty poor if they need that kind of attention to make them fit. Really deserve to be sent back, but I guess most people will just carry on and make it fit rather than have an extra week of the car in bits...

Had to mod mine too as the 2WD box was sitting too high with the VibraTechnics mount and I'm still under the impression its too high...

Are there any other options besides going back to std?

A spacer or shim between the cradle and the shell.

Thanks mate. I guess thats the only solution. I have horrible vibrations from the gearbox and think that the mount is sitting too high is the reason.
