They are good its just a revised secs version. ive the secs one which gives all the info you require.

It would be even better if it had wideband on it too tho

nearly ordered one myself, but was put of by the fact there are two different versions for wasted spark and dizzy setups. so if i upgrade to WS in the future i have to sell and buy another.
surely it would have made sense to have it configurable, its only a divide/multiply the rpm reading by 2 at the end of the day.
extra inputs for oil pressure and wideband would be good too.

yea I will be running WS but what the put off for me is theres no air/fuel and oil pressure which I think are rather important so thing I may just stick with the gauges for now unless it changes in the future

thanks for your help

If they wire up like the secs monitor then they don't really stream any data from the ecu at all, they wire into the engine loom and tell you what it thinks the ecu is seeing.
The only way to actually see what the ecu is seeing is to stream data from the diagnostic port via pins 8-11-27
Good product though I always liked my secs monitor

As above, it's merely a voltmeter!

Also remember for a data stream, you need to factor in a price for a data stream enabled chip, which yours probably isn't!

Think you have to use a Collins chip for it to work

Are you sure, I would have thought anyone's software with DS enabled will work?

The 'Collins' chip will be nothing special, essentially all remaps are just modifications of the original software.

I now you can use it on other than Collins chip as long as it`s have possibility for reading data streams, but you have to modify p8 somehow to open this, thats what i`m looking for

It's not a hardware thing I shouldn't think, rather the software has to have a DS enabled.

That is incorrect. If you change ignition type then you can simply send your monitor back to have the necessary modification to make it suitable for your new ignition. Appolgies if you have been misled on this.
