Default Blanked off hole on 205 block?

I'm intrigued to know what this is used for? Can anyone shed any light onto my curiosity?

More to the point any one know what thread it is? As it's the same as the breather hole below it and I need a -10 fitting for it

I've taken the nut out and put a water temp probe going to a smiths gauge in mine.

Tighten the block to the engine stand, i snapped a top lug/bolt hole and made my only 200 block scrap by not having it tight!!

I'll double check tomorrow - I think I've got a bung handy, and I've got the taps.The tapping drill for 3/8 npt is 9/16, which seems about right
