Sapphire Vibrations :(
Hi guys,
Worked hard on this car so far to get it to where it currently is... and for that reason, I cant put up with the vibration from the tunnel area . Its faint on idle but much louder on overrun etc
Im thinking gear box mount?
Was also deliberating on changing the diff mount and engine mount too.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appriciated

Its a 4x4 converted to 2wd. Vibration is there when stationary on tickover ... so whilst #i dont doubt what your saying, would your suggestions still apply?
Cheers

Hi I just looking through the comments on the vibration on tick over. I have a four-wheel drive sapphire cosworth. And it seemed to develop a vibration on tick over I only noticed it after I put new engine mountains in it which are poly-bushing the gearbox mountain is also polybushing matter the whole car is polybushed. It only goes on tick over but like everything seems to go out when you increase the revs but very annoying. I depreciate if anyone could shed some light on this thanks Liam.

I also had a polybush gearbox mountain which I took out and put the original back I don't have my original engine mountains and so we're damaged and I turned them away. I'm wondering would anyone on here have a set of genuine ford engine mountains for a four-wheel drive separate

The Vibratechnic style alloy gear box mounts can cause the vibration, inspect VERY closely and you may see that the two mount parts touch each other.
I had to file the corners of my centre piece to stop this metal to metal vibration.
Hard to describe, you need to get under the car and have a good look at the two pieces of the mount. One sits inside the other.

I was just thinking afterwards. I had the rear crankshaft seal don't in it when it was in getting somebody work. Does anyone knowledge does the crankshaft have a locating pin for the flywheel? I went through the work manual and I couldn't see anything clearly. If someone had picture of the back of the crenshaft they could share with me and the links down I can see is this going to be my problem. Thanks Liam
