PassionFord Post Whore!!
We could run Vp import but to make that really work it would be better to run circa 9.5-1 rather than just adding extra timing.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
It is harder to do the 1000hp on a YB for that reason,
Also I hear they are now having to rev it to 9k as it does not have the response lower down,
Rods engine is in his road car and need to still respond like that, We could easily make the power easier with the change on head and block but this will add a circa of 10k on top of what we have already spent.

To add to what Mark has said. We now fit 55% higher shear strength bolts & have done block mods to aid head gasket integrity. However Mark does not want to add extra ignition than we did on the 838 engine that proved safe. The Purple does not need extra ignition just extra fuel to make a 10% increase over 106. The vibration mods will be more critical at this Power level than gasket integrity im sure.

Engines that need loads of revs to make the power are hard work. If you drive a 330i or 328 BMW then try an e36 m3 it s amazing how hard you have to work to release the extra power.

My last engine revved to 9k but it didn't need to be driven like that. Mark would read the riot act if he read my data log & he saw I was using too many revs Mark don't like rev cuts so it was down to me to be sensible, in mine changing at 8.2k gave best progress but sometimes I used a lot more. Bit shocked to see 193mph (8.8k) in 4th on the Newbury Bypass but its recorded although it wasn't me Mark . Ive a dry sump fitted to this new engine just in case I start using all those revs again . Its not a bad thing but will shorten the life of a road engine.

Well its 2015 & my New Years Resolution is to finish the car this year .
Start next week with a trip to Vibration free to pick up pistons & cams. Will also get the sump sent out for a mod so the dry sump will suit my application. THEN NO MORE EXCUSES FROM MARK OR MYSELF.

No weight is not really a factor its just bhp v aero brick wall. Gain 100m at the start with less weight & that's only 1 extra second on the throttle at 210mph when you are deffo struggling to acclerate. Stability from the extra weight as speed goes over 190mph more than compensates. These cars were not put in a wind tunnel to see what happens at 190+mph they move about a lot is all I can say. The car will be slightly heavier I suppose but we always run fully loaded so it will make no difference.

This is a long shot.
I need a 80mm 4bar Boost gauge. Only one I can find is a Stack which would be perfect. Problem is they have not been made since 2009 .
Ive asked in the Wanted section as well
Cheers Rod

Just had a look around and I see what you mean, everything is 3 bar! Do you reckon a company such as Stack would be interested in doing a one off for you?

Have you looked at the GPS speedos unsure off accuracy but got to give you a better idea at top end over the std speedo, 52mm as well for pod mount.

You know people have been prosecuted on the strength of these types of videos....great to see but do be careful quoting speeds and certainly do not show the speedo.
