Default Saph Boa turbo conversion!!

So been tinkering with the idea for a while now, weighing up the pro's and con's and now after a few months of slowly but gradually collecting everything I need I'm almost about too start doing my conversion (near end of month)!
So far I have:

Boa engine with all ancillaries, sensors and downpipes with lamba's
Full Boa loom
Boa Ecu
sierra V6 rev counter
Engine crossmember (XR4i)
Whole front/rear end shotblasted and powdercoated yellow and superflexed
E38 brembo front brakes/4x4 cossie vented rears
2.8i V6 flywheel with cossie helix clutch
Mt75 hybrid gearbox

I think all I need now is a starter motor, engine arms(I have Boa arms) and an exhaust made unless anyone on here with experience of one of these builds can tell me if I'm missing anything else?

Will update this tread with photos as I start hoping to do it in a weekend-week max plan is too get front end (TCA's,ARB,Hubs,Brakes,Shocks,Gearbox bolted too Boa on crossmember/gearbox mount, track rods, power steering rack)put together so i can just drop car on it and bolt it all up. Hardest bit for me will be the engine loom :-/

Cheers
Wes

you can upgrade with bob cams 10-15 bhp, vectra injectors are a waste of time unless you have aftermarket mappable ecu.the standard manifolds are very good. the 2.8 fly isnt as deep as 2.9 im not sure if it works with mt75. try fordpower some good info on there.
just put a battery on mine and it wont start now, think ive left a wire off but its dark and cold so it can wait untill tomorow.

Yeah but its bollox bud the best upgrade cam wise is BOB and vauxhall injectors are shit this is what I was told from a cosworth builder who worked on the line during the BOA/BOB builds

Best mods for BOA are: BOB inlet, K&N, Tubular manifold and exhaust with decat, Cosworth Ecu, Uprated fuel pump, Uprated fuel pressure regulator

What do you mean by 'Cosworth ECU'

Could you expand on that?

Why would you need an uprated fuel pump if the original one can supply enough fuel at the correct pressure? And what do you mean by an uprated fuel pressure regulator? Do you mean a regulator that works at a higher pressure than normal? If so, that's the same idea as fitting slightly larger injectors (Vauxhall ones)...

Well basically the bloke from cosworth. He said he was on the line when they made the BOA at cosworth and they were 260/280bhp cnt rem exactly ford were not happy and told them to detune it so they did, down to 230/240bhp ford still not happy so took engine binned the ECU and used there own which detuned it to 200bhp! He said if you bin fords ecu buy the original from cosworth use BOB cam cnt rem which inlet or exhaust(he said change 1 for na and opposite if going turbo) bin the cats change too uprate fuel pressure regulator and better fuel pump engine will be 240/280bhp

Higher pressure fuel pump, and same with fuel pressure regulator! I'm NO expert on these just going on what he told me and he had a few of his own in his workshop turbo and na.

the ecu controls the injector pulse, raise fuel pressure and the ecu reduces the pulse time.

looking for a boa thats siezed or bottom end damaged. i want to use the bob block, boa heads and timing gear. 4litre crank if i feel brave enough to take a grinder to the block. do you use std heads? if not who did them? i hear theres a reputable company around that specialises in cossie v6 and chevy ls v8's.

when god created west yorkshire he sat back and admired his work. then realised he had to adress the balance and create something awful. hence, humberside.

Yeah he has my car on his website yet it only just got run in and it's fucked mate. Different size pistons in one engine lol tapered bores , wrong cylinder clearance. Shite girdled sump machined to 1mm thick etc etc. Julian Godfrey has inspected it and I have his report the engine never had a chance.

for any info on damn quick v6 engines from ford, read the minker section on fordpower.org

ade has a very neath looking 24v engine, but daves 12v is pure v6 porn, or the gt40 on a 12v from a member named grey is also a very hot engine.

ive got almost all my special 2.8 turbo parts from fordpower.org, manifolds, uprated bolts, pistons and rings, few other parts from all the different sales sites, but 99% of the advise and knowledge came from fordpower.org, some very smart, not afraid of thinking outside the box, guys there

I'd need time to strip off various bits from it, then you can have first dibs on it, possibly?

Although I think it's likely that the timing gear is shot and I reckon there's some bent valves, but we shall see
