aha, i figured it would be something like that.

Well, it has the same block as a 2.9cologne V6. An XR4x4 MT75 gearbox will bolt straight to it allowing escos/saphcos/xr4x4 running gear to be fitted. So 4x4 is no big deal.

As for fitting it, the BOA was originally designed to go in the sierra, and the BOB just has some slight tweeks. yes, its a direct fit on either 2wd or 4x4 crossmembers.
The engine mounts can be found fairly easily.

just run it on its standard scorpio wiring, or go for an aftermarket management and wire it yourself. Thats a more expensive way round though.

Will go into engine bay easily you will need either bob crafle with bob arms for mounts or use xr4x4 arms and cradle and can either use xr4x4 running gear or 4x4 cossie running gear on an mt75 4x4 gearbox you will need the bob engine loom they are a pain in the arse to wire up, most people go the boa toot as it has less electrics

You will also need to make an exhaust up using sierra 4x4 exhaust and bob down pipes!

Hi Gents

Been a while since I posted on Pf.

I'm continuing on this thread as I need info central and I know there are are other posts which I've been trying to follow and find.

Here are my questions relative to this thread.

I have my engine now and starting to get all my bits and bobs.

Application: Daily performance driver / long distance traveler / boat towing / dirt road capable.

ECU: will be Aftermarket.

I have my bob engine

I also have the following parts:

1) 1 x 2.9 xr 4x4 front diff
2) 1 x 2.9 xr 4x4 wheel hubs and abs calipers
3) 1 x 2.9 xr 4x4 front drive shafts
4) 2 x sets of wiring looms for full 4x4 abs
5) 2 x 4x4 abs ECU's
6) 1 x 4x4 abs servo
7) 1 x 4x4 abs distribution block (separate)
8) 1 x 4x4 from diff prop shaft (tubular)
9) Gearbox still to be aquired

Questions:

1. I have a 1991 sierra sapphire chasseur that I want to 4x4. Would I need to modify/cut the chassis rails/legs to accommodate the front 4x4 drive shafts? What other structural mods do I need to look out for?

2. I haven't got a 4x4 sump yet. What would be suitable and compatible with this motor? I've been reading that best would be sierra 2.9 V6 XR4x4 would be best. What about sierra v6 2.8 XR 4x4? and also is there a difference between sierra v6 4x4 sump to a Granada v6 4x4 sump?

3. The rear trailing arms. can any 4x4 trailing arms fit with the rear suspension beam? (this Is the curvy part)

4. what type and what size rear differential would be suitable.

5. what type and what size rear drive shafts would be suitable.

6. front TCA. are they standard size and length what size do I need? vs adjustable TCA?

7. Will our (RSA) 3.0L sierra /sapphire flywheel work on this motor?

8. What's needed to convert rear drum brakes to rear disc brakes?

9. Bushes, what's best in front end what's best on rear end?

10. Where can I purchase service parts for my ABS equipment.

I'm slowly building my part list and getting excited with progress. One day I will post my story on PF. I've started a thread on a local website which will slowly take shape.

I would appreciate all help and advice where I can take it.

This is all for now.

Cheers
