2wd water leak from head
just had a 2wd come in the garage for a water leak from the exhaust side rear of the cylinder head. not had a good proper look yet but it looks like the head rotted through
is it new head time or has anybody had a similar problem and had the head welded up

i am going to take it off but i was just wondering if any body else has seen this befor.
i remember vauxhall heads used to rot the head internal waterways and i used to have them welded up and refaced

got the head off today and under closer inspection it looks like frost damage.
on the pictures you can see where a piece has bee pushed out of the head and a small crack on the head face its self
not certain yet but it looks like it is repairable. taking it to the engine machinists tomorrow

bit of an update.
took the head to get it welded last thursday and picked it up on monday morning, this was befor it was welded
this is after it was welded
i dropped it off at the machine shop on monday for a pressure test and skim if the pressure test was ok
two of the exhaust manifold studs had been helicoiled in the past and hadn't been done very well and were leaking.
the machine shop drilled the out and replace the threads with proper screwed in inserts, so no more leaks
machined head face
i could grind the welded part on the side of the head down a little bit to make it flush but i don't think i am going to bother in case it weakens the weld
now it just a question of bolting it all back together
