to help remove the fusebox first remove the abs ecu to help free up some slack.

got to the fusebox and lift the fuse board out with a screwdriver.

remove these clips, this will help you pull the loom through the car.

Unplug as much as possible
Then undo the 4 bolts that hold the fuse ox in place and pull the whole look out the hole with it
The plugs won't want to come out in a hurry from the bottom of the fuse box and this is how I e done loads in the past and it's easier to put back I again if you cable tie the look where the wiring clips are on the body so you can remember where they came from

I don't know if the Cosworth engine loom unplugs by the battery. If not, it needs to feed through the holes into the cabin, then up through the fusebox hole.

I wouldn't bundle the wires as they all have to come through the fusebox hole. Happily, most of the plugs only reach and/or fit a single component.

The Mk2 fuseboxes have the 4 bolts - your car will have the clips as shown in the pics above.

The engine bay loom includes headlights, fogs, indicators, external temp sender, as well as all the connections for the engine, coil, abs etc.

Some of the wires will be brittle and the connectors will be easy to break so just be careful feeding everything - ideally, a mate to push while you pull makes things so much easier.

I found that taking pics and labelling wires helped.
Currently putting it back in after a few years. Lost the pictures... ouch.
But found that laying the loom out in the car all of the connectors seem to line up.
I found all the switches have the same connector, the others are special connectors for door open, etc
So its not as bad as i thought.
I had bought a used loom thinking it would be better.
But went back to my original loom as it had connectors for some bits the loom I bought did not.

I'm just about to do this with my 3dr and just wandered if someone can confirm that after unclipping the abs ecu etc and pulling it through into the engine bay, it all then needs pulling back into the car through the grommet under the fuse box and then the whole loom being pulled out through the fuse box hole.

With the wires being as brittle as they are i just don't want to be pulling on things unnecessarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
