Blue smoke?
Hi! I own a 2wd Sapphire Cosworth and yesterday I 've noticed blue smoke from my exhaust.
2 months ago when I 've used my Sapphire everything was normal, engine silent like new, no smoke and no oil consumption. (fuel in tank is aprox 4 months old)
Yesterday when I started my engine everything was just like before, silent engine and no smoke, 5 minutes later it started to have blue smoke from exhaust. I took it for a test drive and on the road it didn't smoke at all. I' ve turned off my engine and wait for 2 hours. When I started again everything was like before and I saw a small puff of blue smoke.
I took it for a test drive again but this time with 10 psi boost, when I stoped the car it didn't have any smoke at all! I gave it to a friend of mine to drive it and I saw it from outside and on stop/start, rolling, boost and change gear no smoke at all.
I parked it and 5 hours later I started again and everything was quite and easy, without any sounds and without smoke.
I use synth 10/40 and yesterday enviromental tempeture was at 40 Celcius.
Do you have any idea what caused this blue smoke?

its prob just slightly worn valve guides and if it isnt heavy i wouldnt worry..
Sooner or later it will become smokey and or noisey anyway so best just use it hard untill then!!lol..
Seriously its nothing to worry about untill its more apparent..

Car was sitting in my garage for 2 months with old fuel in tank and all this time I haven't even start my engine.
Tomorrow I'll check my spark plugs (colour) and I'll start my engine to see if it is going to happen again!

When I first start the engine there was no smoke from it, after 5 minutes start to smoke. I know that steam seals causes smoke when you first start the engine, when you have start and stop when you drive and when you change gear on all these cases I have no smoke!?!?
On the other side when the problem locates on piston rings it must be smoking almost for all time driving.
On turbo side I know that when there is an issue you have white or blue smoke all time long!
That why I started this post because it is very strange. I haven't taken my spark plugs off yet to see their status.

Today I ve removed my spark plugs, their status is between optimum and rich mixture (brown colour), oil and water level is full and everything is clear. I ve also check my turbo's shaft condition and is in good condition.
I ve repeated last Sunday's procedure but this time I haven't seen any sign of blue smoke, engine is working perfect and everything is silent just like a new engine.
(I had some pictures of my spark plugs but someone has changed my quality setting and they are not clear)
