Where to fit Lambda sensor

Where do I fit the lambda sensor boss on my 3 door? Is it at the top of the downpipe by the turbo or further down? Anyone got pics?
I am using it for an AFR gauge, if I decide to use closed loop on a l8 ecu will I need 2 sensors?

When i had closed loop the idle emissions was spot on, very low, but if anything the car used more fuel on cruise than without it
