Default Gripper Differentials anyone ??????

does anybody used them are they good ? they are with discs?

I run two! one in a Clio, one in a Westfield. The Clio one WAS noisy but isn't now it has the correct oil in it. Been reliable and work well. Westfield one is a ford diff. Same as what you would use in a Sierra. The weak point will still be the standard ford CWP and I have broken one of these already.

what power use for the Gripper diff maximum ?

i have one with a shot peened and super fininshed c.w.p and its a good diff locks the wheels up every time! mine has around 500bhp

The Gripper diff will EASILY handle 500bhp+ but as I have said before, the thing you will break is the standard ford CWP.

Mine was polished and super finished.... and then super broken!

my c.w.p was done at hewland engineering and i have an m.a.d 500/500 set up and it hasent busted yet (did with a standard c.w.p) but then i dont drive like a twat so sould be fine but if it go,s again ill fit a supra one

Its not a problem with the crown wheel as such ,the main problem is that the casing splay as the pinion tries to push the crownwheel out of mesh when transmitted high torque loads which was a problem we had on the original Cosworth challange cars and was all but cured by fitting dowels to the corners back cover
