high revs
Just had the engine re-built in my 3dr, I've also had a new engine loom with wasted spark and new ecu (loom and ecu came together out of anorther cos)
Got the car started today and it started and ticked over fine, however when I blipped the throttle the revs stayed up at 2500 and would not drop. I unplugged the iscv and they dropped back down to around 500 (just too low to tick over) but I kept it ticking over via the throttle, I blipped it withe the iscv unplugged and it never got stuck at high revs, plugged it back in and it idled sweet but on blipping the throttle it once again stayed up at high revs.
The TPS hasn't been adjusted as I left it on the throttle body when I did the re-build but with the idle struggling when hot with the iscv unplugged and the high revs blipping the throttle when plugged in I'm wondering what's going on?? Does the car just need a good set up now I'm using a different ecu or has my iscv stuck? Any ideas?

[QUOTE=Turbosystems;5940841]what tps are you using pf01 or pf09, what ecu are you using L1 L6 or L8[/QUOTE)
I'm going to sound thick now but as for the tps all I know is that its red? Any easy wat to tell what type it is. As for ecu, its got an msd chip and wasted spark driver fitted was off a car running greys and T38, am assuming L6 but is there any way to tell?

Right did my homework and its a L8 ecu with wasted spark loom out of ryans 3dr running greys and a T38, originally a 4x4 loom and ecu. Its gone into my 3dr running a 4x4 cos btm end, greys and. a T34. Because I have the red tps it must be a PF01 and for a L8 ecu I need the black PF09 tps. This must be my problem yes?
Just one other thing, with the ecu and loom originally being out of a 4x4 cos and that ryans 3dr was running a T38 to my T34 is it likely to give me any other headaches, the car started and ran up to temp lovely with only the high rev's being an issue so far! I had planned to get the map on the chip checked once I run the engine in for 500mile off boost.

on the back of the tps is a number pf01 0r pf09
and l8 has to have a pf09 as it works the opposite way round to a pf01
your loom must also be wired at the tps for an l8
you can see the part number by using your make up mirror lol
do not drive it until you have the correct tps
4x4's came with a red pf09
escort cosworths had the uprated black pf09
either will be fine
it is critical the tps is set correctly when you fit the correct one
