Default 3dr offsets

Im thinking of putting new wheels on the my 3dr, but yet again I have forgotten the correct offsets lol!

Can anyone tell me what these are?

I have found a set of 15" the fronts are 7J ET20 and the back 8J ET15 are these any good?

They will be fine but if you wanted you could add a couple mm spacer all round to beef them out a little more but where they would be fine

Not sure how good 15" aftermarket would look on a 3dr though

std is ET35, so ET20 and 15 will stick out more and fill the arches better.

the centre line is 0, so et35 means that the face of the wheel flange is 35mm away from the centre.

et20 is 20mm away etc

Best let Ford know that the standard wheels from my 3dr have been incorrectly stamped with et40 then......

Those rear wheels are too wide - they will run 14mm wider than my rears which are 8.5" ET22 and my arches have been rolled to the limit and kit trimmed right back so to get thwm on your going to need to either ride with the rear on standard height or cut the complete arch off reweld the inner and outer rear quarters back together and bond your fully trimmed kit back on

If they were a rare desirable rim then you could be persuaded to do the work but for a set of wheels worth a few hundred quid and the possiblity of running in a proper size you would be mad to even bother.

I would go for a set of these in either Gold, Silver or black in 17"

Sizes i would go for an 7.5" front ET25 and 8.5" rear ET25 these have been on a 3dr on here before and sit very well on the car i'm sure i have a picture of it somewhere i will try and find it

These company's can help

Chris, what would be the ideal tyre set up on these offsets. 235 or 215/50/17 rear and 205 or 215/40/17 fronts?

Thanks.Lee.

And there is so many people who would change a 3 door wheel for another 15 inch rim Et40 maybe but look how much the standard wheels sit in the arches .

Lee the tyre selection is based on the arches of the car - if you go for a 8.5 ET25 235/40/17 then the arches need rolling and trimmed right back

Playing around with the offset even dropping back to a ET30 would give you 5mm extra space

Also the height of the car plays a part in it.

Lee what you thinking mate?

mine was on 235/40/17 rear and 215/40/17 front ET35

arches were rolled all round and kit trimmed etc

and here it is with a 30mm spacer on the rear making them ET05 lol
