Cam cover
Hi all
Want to freshen up my cam cover
Powder coat or paint??
What have you guys used? Any pics of finished cover?

Powder coat is more durable but paint should last, I did mine candy blue 2k but it's cracked now :0(

Did you strip the old paint off first?

Yea mate stripped it back to bare metal, etch then high build then paint.
Not sure why it cracked as 2k should hold up to the heat, gonna have to paint my spare one now and swap them over

Do you still need to strip / etch with crackle? Was thinking of doing mine....

Get Paul400 to do yours, it WILL look better than new. Blasted, painted, machined, then laquered, looks amazing!

It cracked due to the high-build primer. I did a CVH one exactly the same as it has done the same. Do it without the high-build and it will be fine.

Blasted, etch primed, black wrinkle finish, then "Monster" Dave machined the face to be different

Good to know, might do my spare one crackle black for now though as im going to be doing all by bailey bits the same!!

The wrinkle finish works best at high temps - mine was left in the booth over night
