Default Rear brake dust guard, item/part number verification

.

Could some in the know verifiy an item/part number for me, i've bought a set of rear dust guards off Ebay listed as "Sierra Cosworth RS 500/XR 4x4/Saphire Brake Disc Backing Plates N.O.S Genuine".

Link to add

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3209055329...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I measured the rear discs before buying these and the are 272mm, now i don't have the original dust gurads as they feel apart. The part number on the ones a recieved is
85GB-2K317-AE.

This is the same number as the ones linked in the advert wrighting in RED.

Can someone tell me if these are cossie ones as the disc touches the edge.

Any info or photos of a pair fitted to see where they sit compaired to the actual disc

Cheers, Ginger

I dont think these are Cossie ones, as they are domed.... All the 273mm cossie solid and vented back plates i have seen have been flat type

I found one of my old ones last night and it's 302mm, the new ones are 274mm. Fitted one of the new last night and it fits, looks like there maybe 2 different types/sizes :-/

Damocos, that pic is the 4x4 version, 2wd are non-vented discs.

Cheers for the replies

Ginger

I bought a pair of 2wd ones thinking I might be able to modify to fit 4wd .. Oh no way too different .. I sold them it they were slightly smaller than the original 2wd ones the guy had .. I had checked these out with parts dept which is why I know the part no for 2wd . Finally got a decent pair of 4wd ones as mine disappeared when I touched them .. Big pile of orange dust

I bought a set and the part number is 85 but didn't compare sizes when i removed the old ones

I was under the impression that the part number being 85 would indicate that these wouldn't have been for any vehicle older than the 3dr or they would have been late 70's, very early 80's code but i could be wrong - mine will be on by weekend so i will soon know - failing that i may go down the carbon route

Did you sell them , you bought them from me .. I bought them from rs360classics. Funny they were same size as my 4wd ones but different shape , they are correct part no. Was there a brake set up change in the 2wd ?? This seems to be a regular problem when you speak to people

Who made them?! I sent my original one I moulded off 3 months ago and was told I would have a set ages ago but not heard a word, just want my original one back do I can at least make two then just paint them as its a biax carbon rather than a twill weave but I got the cloth free so not complaining!!

Right tested mine today and guess what they are too small - measure 274mm which is too small for the rear discs on Cosworth models so these look like they came from a Granada as they ran a 253mm disc which makes them worthless really
