You will be pushing any block at that spec.
Min for me would be stock block and ductil iron liners.

Are the liners for pure strength Mark or for the type of piston you run?

I cant tell you its the best as I have not tested alll the versions out there,
I was unhappy with the last 2 Nicasil liners blocks I had as they where oval and taperd and the blocks needed remachining.

So you have used those your self. Any other high power engines with these ones?
And how much these and machining cost?

Well why not.
Actually, it is not very important, because I have to anyway buy a new internal parts. Of course more volume would be good, because I'm using GTX4294.
Stroke I want to keep close original, because I like to have rod ratio what makes sense to me. And I want it to rev easily and high (+9000rpm).
Hope this makes sense, I'm not so good in english.

Are you going to a longer rod with the std stroke?
That turbo is a monster. I asume from that your chasing over 600hp!
If I had an unlimited budget I would be going for a tall deck alloy block with a 2.3lt stroker bottom end.
What plans do you have?

That was my plan. Original stroke and 136 or 138mm rods. And yes, well over 600hp.
Alloy block is one possible idea, but don't know that how does it work. Not so many people using that one.

I think the reason not alot of people are using them is because there not exactly cheap!
Might be best to track down a suplier, like Burton Power, and ask them about the block. They should have all the details you need.

I think SCS did an alloy block not so long ago so maybe worth asking them?

Mark,

Any more info on these ductil iron liners, never heard of them, are they a better option than nicasil items?

Get intouch with mk motorsport of here..

I have a 200 block fully machined out with a 25mm block spacer that obvioulsy makes it a bigger capacity but strengthens the block, then i have 6mm thick steel wet liners pressed in and then to top that off i have one of his block girdles to make it even stronger through the main caps..imo its the best possible and strongest blocks available ..

cheers danny

How thick are the liners?

I was given a 200 block which has had liners fitted ready to be honed the only thing that puts me off using it is that its been machined for what i'd guess is coopers rings gasket.

In your opinion Mark would this block be any good?

cheers
