Default Steering O ring

Hi,

Done a job on the car today and took it out for a spin, on my return (In a tight turning) ATF was pouring over the floor, obviously because the PAS is under load.

I haven't had a look properly yet, but suffice to say I know it's steering related, I suspect it's either the pump to rack pipe, or the 'O' ring (the latter would be the preferred choice)

The question is does anyone know the size of this O ring, as I don't really feel like getting ripped off by going to Ford?

Also I have brought a cambelt cover, but it's from a BT Escos, can anyone confirm this will fit a 2WD Saph, as the top is more 'rounded' opposed to being square like the 3DR/Saph, I tried it briefly today and it seemed a really tight fit, I am pretty sure it will fit as in theory there is no difference in the design between the engines, but can anyone confirm this for sure?

Thanks,

Martin

Hi mate,

I have had a look tonight, the leak is actually coming from the thin metal hose that attaches to the front of the rack itself, the banjo on the pump and that hose are fine, so I am now going to look at getting another metal hose then I will ask if you can me what will be a small 'o' ring, as the unions of the rack are quite small as you know.

Does anyone know the sizes of the 2 o-rings that attach to the 2 front metal pipes, which in turn attach to rack front? One has outer diameter of ~11 mm and other ~9, I need new ones as these are leaking. GGR seal kit came with 2 o-rings but they look like they are way too big.

The OE ford spare O-rings are thin on the ground so I just sourced HNBR (green in colour) O-rings from hydraulic shop which are just slightly thicker in size, they should do the job.
