Default Saff Oil Pressure

Just got round to fitting my Stack Oil presure gauge and after some opinions.
The following readings are with 15w40 semi Castrol Oil.

cold start its bang on 50psi. After letting it run upto temp after the fans kick in, it idles pretty much bang on 25psi. Rises to around 40psi @ 2k revs.

Seem a bit lower than some of the pressure readings when I done a search on here, but im assuming its down to me using a thinner oil than most on here.

I was refering to the hot rating of 40. Its thinner when hot comapred to the fully synthetic 50's and 60's

I am going to switch to a 15w50 in the summer, so im thinking the readings will rise a little with some pro-S or similar.

What oil are you using in yours mate. Ive been looking through some of the fully synthetic stuff and the Gulf competition studd gets good reviews and value.

Been digging around the net and found a place local to me that sells the Millers CFS 10w50 for £47 for 5 litres. Might pop over tomorrow and pick some up.

i use edge10w60

oil pressure is 60 when cold 25 on hot idle and 50 hot running,
another thing to consider mate is that not all pressure gauges will rear the same, you could put another gauge in you car and it will read different.

as mentioned above don't seem bad figures

Good price. Where is that and do they deliver? Opie is slightly more mate but are always a good place to ask any fluid questions.

Its a place in Birtley called AS Performance. They are a subaru / Rally specialist. I used to get my Motul oil from them for my Impreza. Think they do deals on the Motul 300v as well. I believe they do deliver.

http://asptrading.co.uk/acatalog/MILLERS.html

£8 delivery so £57 delivered to mainland UK

Edited: Just checked, Opie do free standard delivery so £55 from them.

i used to run 15w40 £22 5litres castrol semi syn but was told it wasn't right, then i changed to mobile1 15w50 £45 5litres and its shit in my mind, my engine is much more noisey and it leeks out of everywhere.
back to the castrol for me.
my oil pressures are
80psi cold
35psi hot idle
back to 55-60 when reved!!!

I no people will write different on mobile1 but this is my own expirence!!!!!!!!
