Default Sierra central locking and mirror.

I wonder if anyone knows where i should start looking, my central locking and drivers side mirror isn't working on my xr4I, i have plugged a new mirror in and still nothing and nothing on the locking but the passenger mirror is working fine so must be power to the switch, iv checked all fuses and all seem to be o.k.

any help would be appreciated.

MK1 central locking has both a central locking module and uses solenoids, the drivers door is the master door so you can only use the C/L from there.

Have you checked the drivers side mirror switch, does the central locking solenoid etc have power to them?

well had alook today on the mirroe switch ther are 5 wires 2 have power, 1 is an earth and the other 2 which i think must be for the drivers mirror have no power, also no power to the central locking, checked fuses, checked wiring inbetween door and no breaks so at a loss.

im assuming the mirror and locking are a related problem but at a loss now, where is the relay for the central locking although i don't think thats the probem as no power to the mirror as well.

I wonder if anyone knows where i should start looking, my central locking and drivers side mirror that are branded mirrors for ford isn't working on my xr4I, i have plugged a new mirror in and still nothing and nothing on the locking but the passenger mirror is working fine so must be power to the switch, iv checked all fuses and all seem to be o.k.
Actually it has happened to me before, the door would lock and unlock on its own while I was driving. It could really be annoying. I thought the problem was with the battery but didn't work. I had cleaned the pads but still no work so I had some works on the fuse box, look for the faulty plugs, you'd be lucky if not all wouldn't blow. You have to be careful though. The fuse box is right beneath the glove box.

Be careful though. If fuse blows disconnect each door manually either on the motor or the door opening plug.
