Default Cosworth throttle position sensor ?

What would be the symptoms of a loose connection of the throttle position sensor be.Reason,,sometimes on idle i can hear the amal valve clicking on tickover, never really took any notice, when you slightly blipped the throttle it stopped.Anyway having a poke around(as you do),i tapped the tps and the clicking stopped, gave it a few more taps and the amal valve clicked with my tap.?? Any thoughts

Not a loose connection, rather a bad calibration or bad TPS, try adjusting first and check connection.

For some trivia 2WD is open circuit at idle anyway!

thanks for the reply,i checked again after you said about it,it does seem to be a loose connection in the plug,as it does the same when you wiggle the plug about, its a 2wd tps(red) on an l8 ecu with msd c/l chip.

Thats wrong to start with, L8 needs a 4x4 (PF09) TPS, you also need to invert the outer two wires if using a 2WD loom.

Some PF09's were red, you are looking for the output to increase with throttle opening, @ WOT you want to see 5V or just shy of it.
