Default Spec me a 450 bhp engine please

Right I've got myself a rolling shell sorted, now my attention is on building my first yb engine....
Funds are limited at best so everything is going to be used/refurbished. Also I'm going to build it in stages as finances allow.
I'm going to look out for a 200 block if poss as I've been led to believe I won't have to long stud it. Can someone confirm this?
I've got an opportunity to buy gt3076 cheap so i'l prob go down that road.
Am I ok pocketing the standard pistons? Should bring the cr down a bit too
Any suggestions on cam choice? Bd14 inlet and standard exhaust?
Headgaskes choice?
Are the rods ok at this spec?
Which injectors will flow enough? Siemens
I take it I'm not in the territory for double valve springs yet?
Who can do me a good port/polish
Or anything else I should be aware of or missed

Dan

200 block can either be long studded or not, you cannot long stud a 205 block. at 450hp i wouldnt worry about long studding but your choice. if your on a budget then i wouldnt

headgasket choice will depend on the head and block surface, the head will need to be skimmed and the blocked decked if using a metal gasket.

3076 is a bit big for 450, better off with a 3071r or t38

standard mahle pistons are fine at that power level & yes you can pocket them, the standard rods are good for 600hp + if in good condition

i would stick to standard 8:1 compression

cam choice will depend on who is mapping it, but bd14 inlet and standard exhaust is a proven package - will work well with a ported head

siemens 83's injectors

neil roper is your man for head work http://www.roperdevelopments.co.uk/

double valve spings will depend on revs, but if its a budget build perhaps the money is best spent elsewhere

get the machining done by someone decent and also get the bottom end balanced

cheers

ive gone for a 200 blick
ported polished head
not sure on cams but they have verniers so assuming they are uprated, or at least the inlet is.
modded 2wd inlet with spacer
83lb siemens injectors
gt3076r internally gated turbo - this is on 0.63 housing so should spool up quick
omex 600 ecu

hoping to get as close to 500 as i can but keep it nice and driveable rather than chase figures.

I reckon it will do 450 quite easily

4x4 ones are deeper than 2wd allowing more flow, with a spacer on the 4x4 it will flow a bit more

This is true- but the actual restriction is in the elbow.
Modify a 2wd inlet correctly an it il do 500bhp.
