I have looked in the owners manual and it says that cooling fans 1 and 2 are in the auxiliary fuse box behind the dash. I can't see them and can only see 6 relays in a row next to the ecu. Can any one enlighten me where they are or even better which relays to remove as I am fitting a new fan wiring loom. It on a 4x4 saph.

They are in the box in the engine bay, the one kind of behind the turbo, i can't think off the top of my head which ones in there though, it'll be the melted one

can't remember the fuse no. but the fuse is the melted one in the picture. also the fan relay is the small yellow one in the picture also

Oh ek lol. I have 2 yellows ones there. One is ignition..... And the other engine mangament by the book lol. I have for now cut back the old wires and used small adhesive shrink wrap under a big adhesive shrink rap and sealed all the ends so it's all safe for now until I find the right fuse/relay at a later date.

It all works to with only 0.2 volts drop when running instead of the old wiring dragging the volts down by as much as 2 volts sometimes when running so a good result and a happy MSD customer. Sorry Stu/James at MSD but had to cut the battery circle crimped ends off as I don't have the flat battery terminals anymore. But I re-adhesively shrink wrapped it all so it's just as good lol so I could get the battery connections into my distribution block and new negative terminal.

I just left mine in an insulated the old terminals.

cheeRS Paul, will do that and put them in a relay casing type of thing that I am looking into, that are on egay, just deciding which one to pick lol.

Was in town today and the fans all worked perfectly and sounded even better and not as though they are having to be dragged around, which is a result.

Tbh I never knew the later models even had an auxiliary fuse box?

On 2WD models both are in ONLY fuse box under the bonnet as said, as is the relay.

Got myself one of the MSD radiator fan looms for my 3 door. I'm no auto electrician but it all looks pretty straight forward. One thing I'm not sure about is the original fuse location. Under the cover of the fuse box it looks as though there are two fuses with fan symbols, one noted as number 4 (30A) and number 20 (25A). Does anyone know which one of these I need to pull, or is it both? The instructions don't mention having to remove a relay, is there a relay I'm suppose to take out as well?

Pretty sure its the top one in picture, fitted my uprated fan loom couple of weeks ago only issue I had was as supplied the 15amp fuses blew on first test, change to 20amp and all is fine

One is probably the heater motor, so remove it and see if your blower stops working...

As you have rewired then there is no need to keep any remants of the old loom, the relay will be one of the yellow ones.

Thanks guys.

I can confirm that the fuse at the top of my photo is the radiator fan and the fuse on the right is the heater blower.

Not sure about the relay but I suspect it's the yellow one at the bottom of my photo, as it's actually shown as blank on the underside of my fuse box cover.
