Default help needed on wheel choice (rs7) and offset

hi iv had my rwd cosworth for 3 months and headgasket went so decided to fix all the little probs at the same time and have never liked the black mondeo wheels and my dad has had a set of 16" rs7 et40 in his shed for years i believe they come of a mondeo also they were in really bad condition so decided to sand the lacor of and give them a polish and try them on the cosworth at first i thought they looked to small but then thought still better than the wheels onit so thought i would try and fit one on the front and they dont clear my brakes would you use spacer of just change wheels heres some pics of how they look on the back i know they would need smaller tyres but you get the idea or should i fit white wheels also what offset clears 2wd calipers

you will need 3-5mm spacers on the front to clear the 2wd 4pots.

if using cossie 4x4 brakes, you dont need the spacer.

Ideal offst for the wheels would be et35

17" RS 7 soft spokes don't clear 2WD calipers without spacers

I'm tempted to try mondeo Mk3 calipers and ST170 discs on mine, no idea of how much work they would be to fit though on 2WD Cossie hubs.

2wd 4pots are better for stopping power and you will need a thicker spacer if they are still touching - try going a couple of mm bigger.

If using 4x4 cossie brakes, no spacer is needed.
