Default Checking what head gasket is in

Half a year ago I bought a 4x4 YB sapphire running a 320 bhp setup. I'm told the engine has been taken apart earlier. Is it possible to check what kind of head gasket is fitted? Can you see it from the side of the engine or something like that?

Nope. Only way is to pull the head off then you'll need a new one as its been compressed. Unless its a multilayer wrc

You can see if it's a fibre or metal head gasket but you won't be able to tell if STD or group A fibre gasket. I can see my multi layer metal gasket quite easily.
