Need to measure a T5 Gearbox... can you help?
Hi there, I need to measure up a T5 geabrox to see if it will fit in the transmission tunnel of my MK Indy kit car. Has anyone out there got a T5 out of a car that I could pay a visit and take some measurements please?
It would need to be within around 40 miles of Basingstoke, Hampshire.
Thanks, Graham.

thanks for the replies people... very kind of you all.
i've contacted a few people on ebay for measurements and the results have varied significantly! so i have resorted to try and measure one myself.
however i will upload a pic which would show which measurements i need.
thanks again people... there's still some good people in the world!

Awesome, thanks cozzyjeff. Interestingly these are different to the dimensions provided by our fellow ebay members!!
Judging by the dimensions supplied by ebay members... I reckon they were wrong and these are right.

Initial indication (before going to measure one up before Wednesday) is that it will be very tight (if it fits at all)! I have posted up on the Locost builders firum to see if anyone has fitted a T5 in an MK before:
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/view...php?tid=161751
Based on the dimensions posted above, it is going to be down to the last couple of mm... so I'm thinking that the play on the rubber mount will cause it to hit the chassis (maybe I could fit some rubber pads between the gearbox and the chassis).
I think the best way will be to trial fit one. Has anybody got one for sale? Or has anybody got a knackered one they want to get rid of cheaply? Or even a spare one I could borrow one weekend?!

Hello mate... no not yet unfortunately. Got the ruler out again and it may fit, but only by a couple of mm! Still not too sure though.
Defo need to get a bellhousing first though!
