Default Hole in cam cover

Hello,

Does anyone know what's the purpose of the hole in the front of the cam cover just behind the inlet cam pulley?
Thanks Marc

It's also on the back to prevent moisture in the plug area so it's like a breath hole
Most likely your camcover gasket is leaking which can explain oil coming out, if it's coming out of that specific hole.

Wrong, totally standard and it's merely a breather, there is also one in the back of the cam cover!

I had some idiot from the FSOC trying to tell me that someone had drilled it, needless to say I never re joined the club!

To the OP, most likely culprit is your cam cover seals, they leak by the pulleys and probably makes it look like it's coming from the hole.
