rich running cosworth
hi ive got a problem with my cossie running really rich ive set the fuel pressure replaced the cts the ats and the 3 bar map ive also tried a different regulator admitidly it was another second hand one,its running greys its just rich everywhere i took the throttle body off to check the tps and set it when i noticed fluid in the elbow of the inlet looks a bit like oil does anybody know where this could be coming from and if its got anything to do with the rich running, its a msd chip to run greys if i turn the pressure down to say 30 psi it will run okish but still a co of 6% and an afr of 12.5 which drops to 11-12 afr on full boost i cant see any issues with the pipework as its all new im confused any ideas pleeeeease

Have you changed water temp sensor ? Could be a software fault worth getting it set up if it is msd can alter the map if it's defiantly chip at fault. What have you set fuel pressure to ? Should be 3.5 bar with vacume off

yeah changed the water temps sensor(cts) set the pressure at idle 3.5 bar 45psi but its off the scale at that with the regulator set at 2 bar i can get it down to around 5-6% co thats with the mixture screw on the ecu set at its lowest ive had the l6 ecu repaired so i know thats working ok but its still to high but it will run ok but the fuel pressures way to low,i dont know where to look next i cant believe theres a problem with the chip its a running fault.cheers

[QUOTE=ajamesc;5639484]if there is oil in the elbo on the inlet manifold then its coming from the turbo[/Q
that was the only thing i could think off but i was wondering if a little oil flowing through the inlet would give a rich reading i dont think so as usaully the breather port gets returned into inlet manifold anyway
