Default 2.0 twincam efi very sore on petrol

hi, can anyone help me with this, my sierra is extremely sore on petrol by the looks of things, ive put in 20 pound there and only really been starting it and revving it a bit in the shed, and a couple of drives down the road at a few mile
before this i had put in £10 and before that £20 with again very little driving, just again revving and ticking over in the shed?

need to fill it to the neck and see how long that lasts me but i am assuming there is something wrong here, only thing done to the engine is there is a stainless steel exhaust with only one box, could this be the cause?

thanks for any help

They are seriously inefficient at idle, and lower speeds, it's amazing how much fuel a car idling uses, petrol engines don't do this well unlike diesels.

strange, can get 400 on a tank in a 4x4 twink........................ or remarkably less with a heavy right foot, average 280-320 though..

Mick, when i used to own my saff years ago i used average around 350 a tank. Havent got anywhere near that as its obviously been messed around with since i sold it and you can smell fuel when you first start it too

hopefully when i change the engine over it will all sort itself out. Cheers for the pump too
