cosworth fuel problem

Default cosworth fuel problem

hi all was wondering if anyone can help me out i hope so ive got a 3 door cosworth which can run or drive fine then all of a sudden it dopes up with fuel and have to keep it reved up until it clears it then its fine was going to get the blue and brown sencors but now it wont start atall might be the fuel pump gone il whip the pump off when i get 5 mins but the problem is def fuel i dont no if anyone has any idears mods are stage 1 its had new injectors also need to solve the problem its breaking my heart lol

I had similar to this turned out to be crud in the pump . Has the filter been changed recently ?

no havent changed the filter will do though and going with a group a pump as well maybe that might cure it its funny cause it can be fine for days then all of a sudden dopes up with fuel thanks for the reply though mate

You mean its flooding the engine with fuel ? Or fuel starvation?

flooding it with fuel you can smell it somethings giving it way to much fuel but i dont no what and now wont start i dont think its getting any fuel its fireing perfect i cant work it out

I,m just a keen enthusiast and dont know much but it may well be a duff fuel reg ? There should be a certain amount of pressure in the rail itself also . I,m sure someone will reply with a much more defintive answer

i no mate thanks for trying to help i got it started today turned out to be the fuel pump relay why it wouldnt start but still flooding with fuel mabey someone might no what it is i might try and see if i can get it pluged in to see what the prob is or i dont no if i put it on a rolling road if thay could get it running right i dunno whats best to do with it

Yeah you need to find somebody who can trace it down , it could be a number of things i guess . If you haven,t replaced the act and cts sensors then you may aswell do this anyway it might be the cts causing it worth doing for the cost imo

My first port of call would be the coolant temo sensor on the back of the head.

Normaly when these go they show a -55c ( i think ) temperature to the ECU so it dumps a load of fuel in. Check the wires to it too

yeah thats what il do i think mate try the 2 sensors on it and see what its doing il check the wires as well mate just hope it aint nothing to do with the loom il keep you posted on whats goin on with it

And see if the vacuum hose to the pressure regulator has any splits in it.
